BNNB Players Membership Program (BNNB-PMP)
Ø All Senior and Junior Badminton Players who reside in New Brunswick and wish to compete in Badminton New/Nouveau Brunswick Sanctioned tournaments/events must first register in the BNNB Players Membership Program (BNNB-PMP). All Senior and Junior Badminton Players residing in New Brunswick who do not register in the BNNB Players Membership Program (BNNB-PMP) will not be permitted to compete at the BNNB Sanctioned tournaments/events.
Ø All Senior and Junior Badminton players who reside outside of New Brunswick but within Atlantic Canada will be permitted to compete at the BNNB Sanctioned Atlantic Open and Atlantic Championship tournaments as long as they possess membership with their Provincial Badminton Association.

There will be four categories of membership that will give members certain benefits depending on the membership category they choose. For 2010 the cost to join will be $25 for each category. All members will be sent a lanyard with their name and membership number on it for verification purposes at tournaments.
All membership categories will automatically gain access to SIRC. (Sport Information Resource Library) SIRC has a comprehensive library of sport related information and provides newsletters and job-posting for the Canadian sporting community. All memberships will also include the Badminton Canada newsletter and access to members only website content, contests, and Badminton Canada merchandise.
The first membership category is the High Performance Athlete. In order to become an HP Athlete member you must be a current member of a Provincial Badminton Association. The HP Athlete membership will allow the member to compete in the Badminton Canada Elite Series tournaments and the National Championships events. It will also give the member the opportunity to compete in international events and be eligible to qualify for Badminton Canada teams, programs and funding. The HP Athlete members will also be eligible to join the Badminton Canada Players Association provided they meet the constitution requirements.
The second membership category is the High Performance Coach. In order to become an HP Coach member an individual must have full NCCP Level 1 or higher certification or an international equivalent. In addition to the general membership benefits, HP Coaches will be allowed onto the field of play at the National Championships events. HP Coach members will also become eligible to be selected to coach at Badminton Canada events and have access to funding and coach training opportunities. They will also become members of the Canadian Badminton Coaches Association with voting privileges.
The third category is the HP Officials membership. This category is open to any Official with at least the regional umpiring designation. The Official must be recognized by a Provincial Badminton Association to become a member. HP Officials will be able to officiate at Badminton Canada events, represent Canada at international events and have access to training opportunities with high level Officials. (provided they meet the level required as per the event regulations)
The final membership category is the General HP member. In addition to the membership benefits shared by all HP members, the General membership will include discounts to event tickets, free admission to Elite Series and National Championships event and the option to upgrade to one of the other membership categories should the member choose to pursue coaching, officiating or playing.
Badminton Canada will continually be striving to add more benefits to the HP memberships.
Memberships are can be purchased anytime during the year, but are only good until the end of the year they are purchased with the exception of membership purchased in December, which will be valid until the end of the following year.
No athletes, coaches or officials will be eligible for the membership benefits if they have not purchased their memberships by February 28th, 2010. Memberships can still be purchased after March 1st and be valid until the end of 2010.
The membership fees will be used to increase the quality of Badminton Canada events, HP programs, coaching programs, officials programs and membership benefits.
It will also enable Badminton Canada to connect more closely with the people who love our sport and keep them well informed, supported and passionate.
